| What're They For? If you have a Nicam or Dolby television and a Nicam or Dolby VCR you need to connect the two together with a Scart lead to get the full sound capability. The VCR will then work off an AV channel. Another use is connection to a satellite, Free To Air or cable TV system. Some leads are Scart to Scart, others have a Scart at one end and phono plugs at the other for connecting a TV or VCR to audio equipment. There are phono to phono leads for home cinema sound or Hi-fi and optical leads for Toslink audio connections. Still others have a round S-Video (S-VHS) connection. All our Scart plugs are fully wired (21 pins) unless it says otherwise. We are particularly pleased to be a major stockist of the Thor range of leads and the IXOS range of leads. There are different Scart and other AV leads and adapters available. Some have gold plated contacts for a better connection. Others have cable of differing lengths. Some are switched so you can change the direction of the signal. Still others end in phono sockets or have one Scart leading into two. Some even have oxygen free cable to give an even clearer connection.

| Hubs, Splitters and Modulators allow you to do all sorts of clever things with your AV connections. For instance, plug two or more devices into one Scart socket, change the format of a signal so that you can use it on an old TV or distribute it around your home using cable. Some hubs are remote controlled, some are manually switched. Some support RGB and some are good for camcorder users.
