AC/DC Adapters

AC/DC Adapter connect to an 200 - 240 Volt AC mains supply and output a DC voltage, including car 12V output adapters. See also Universal AC/DC Adapters. and also Voltage Regulators.

DC to DC Voltage Conversion

DC Voltage Converters change one type of DC (battery power) into another type of DC. Typically this means something like changing 24 Volts into 12 Volts.

Power Inverters Power Inverters - this kind of device takes the input from a 12 Volt or 24 Volt battery (car, truck, boat etc.) and turns it into 240 Volt AC. The point of this is to allow you to power a mains device using a vehicle battery. Some Power Inverters connect directly to the battery, while some work through a in-car cigarette lighter. They have a 3 pin UK power socket and are used a lot for camping, caravans and boating trips. Different inverters have different outputs (measured in Watts). You need an inverter with enough wattage output to power the device you want to use.	Power Leads Power leads - for connecting computer equipment, LCD TVs and other appliances to the mains.

These are universal AC/DC adapters which means that they will accept any AC input, and so work anywhere in the world, and have a adjustable DC output. Some are specially designed to work with particular products such as iPods and PSPs. Most of the ones we sell have a UK plug, but as they accept any voltage they can be used anywhere - all you need is the correct electrical plug adapter.
Universal Power Supplies for Laptop Computers Universal AC (mains) laptop computer power supplies and also in-car laptop power supplies (using the 12V cigarette lighter connection). Different laptop computers will need a different wattage. All these power supplies come with a range of connection plugs designed to fit most laptop computers.	Voltage Regulators A Voltage Regulator is a kind of AC/DC adapter, but more heavy duty than most. A Voltage Regulator connects to an AC mains supply and outputs a steady DC voltage. Voltage Regulators are sometimes switchable so that you can adjust the DC output voltage.
